Once upon a time, there was a woodcutter who lived in a village and went to the nearby forest to cut down trees to sell in the market.

Page 2

One day, while he was cutting a tree, his old iron axe fell into the river, and he started crying because he did not know what to do.

Page 3

Suddenly, a goddess appeared from the river and asked why he was crying, and the woodcutter replied that he had lost his axe in the water.

Page 4

The goddess went into the water and returned with a golden axe, then a silver axe, but the woodcutter said neither was his.

Page 5

The goddess went into the water again and brought back his original iron axe, which the woodcutter claimed, and because he was so honest, she gave him all three axes as a reward.
