Comparing IB Schools on Sarjapur Road (Under ₹10L/Year)

Hey everyone, I’ve been compiling insights from parents regarding IB schools in and around the Sarjapur Road area—especially for families looking to stay under a budget of ₹10 Lakhs/year or moving back from abroad. Here’s a summary of how the main options stack up based on recent parent reviews and discussions: 1. One World International School (OWIS), Sarjapur Fee: ~₹3–4 Lakhs/year The Good: Easily one of the most budget-friendly options offering an international inquiry-based curriculum. Parents moving kids from abroad (e.g., coming from US schools around Grade 9/10) report smooth transitions without the massive price tag of traditional international schools. The Caveats: A few parents noted recent management/administrative changes, so policies and day-to-day coordination can feel a bit unsettled compared to earlier years. 2. Oakridge International School, Sarjapur Fee: ~₹7–8 Lakhs/year The Good: Established campus with solid international exposure and well-structured PYP/MYP frameworks. Very familiar environment for NRI/returning families. The Caveats: Sits toward the upper end of the ₹10L budget limit. Some parents mention mixed experiences regarding teacher turnover and larger class sizes. 3. Greenwood High International Fee: ~₹7–9 Lakhs/year for the IB track The Good: Strong reputation for academic rigor, solid college placements, and a structured IB Diploma Program (IBDP). Excellent campus infrastructure and sports facilities. The Caveats: The environment leans quite competitive and traditional compared to more open IB setups. 4. Other Mentioned Alternatives Neev Academy & Harvest International: Both come up often when looking for strong inquiry-based environments in the surrounding area. Smrti Academy: Worth looking into if you’re open to a CBSE setup that integrates application- and competency-based learning at a lower cost. A Few Tips from Parents Moving back to India: IB vs. CBSE: If your long-term plan is higher education abroad, staying in IB/IGCSE makes the transition seamless. If your child will eventually take Indian competitive exams (like JEE/NEET), CBSE might be worth evaluating. Grade 9 Entry: Most international schools strongly recommend enrolling by Grade 9 rather than waiting for Grade 10 so the student can adapt to the assessment style before board years. Faculty Transition: In mid-tier IB schools, many teachers come from CBSE/ICSE backgrounds and are adapting to IB inquiry methods. It’s always best to visit the campus and talk to current parents directly to gauge teacher stability.
