Hi everyone, I am looking for some information regarding the hiring process at our school. Could anyone clarify what the minimum educational qualifications or certifications are required if someone wants to apply for a teaching role here? Thanks in advance!

Is it for the primary or secondary section? That usually changes the qualification criteria quite a bit.

Most schools now prefer candidates who have cleared the CTET exam as well. My niece recently applied for a primary teacher role and they specifically asked for her CTET score card along with her NTT diploma. I would suggest you keep all your certifications ready before applying.

My son's teacher told me once that they prefer candidates who are CTET qualified. You should definitely check if that applies to your department too.

It really depends on the subject you are applying for. For language teachers, they might overlook a B.Ed if you have a Master's degree and some good hands-on experience, but for Math and Science, they are very particular about the official B.Ed qualification.

Is this for the junior wing or high school? Usually, if you have a post-graduate degree in your subject plus B.Ed, you have a much better chance of getting shortlisted quickly.

I have seen that apart from formal degrees, the school values good communication skills and prior teaching experience a lot. If you have done some tutoring or worked in a reputed coaching center, do mention that in your CV as it helps!

Hi, for most of the reputed schools here, they strictly look for a B.Ed degree along with your post-graduation in the specific subject. I have seen that even if you have years of experience, without the B.Ed certificate, they don't even shortlist the resume for an interview. It’s better to check the school’s official website career page once.

Hi, for most primary roles, a B.Ed is now mandatory along with a graduation degree in the specific subject. My niece applied last year and they were quite strict about the B.Ed certification, even for the lower grades. I would suggest you check the school website's 'Careers' section as they sometimes update the exact requirements there.
