· Bengaluru2d agoMy daughter was struggling with verb conjugations last year, so we started using the 'Duolingo' app for 15 minutes daily. It really helped her get the basics right before she started actual coaching. For a tutor, I highly suggest checking if there’s someone from the Alliance Française nearby, as their teaching method is very systematic compared to private home tutors.

· Bengaluru2d agoGrammar is definitely the key. Ensure she maintains a separate notebook for all 'Exceptions' and 'Irregular Verbs'—this helped my daughter during her revision before the final board exams.

· Bengaluru2d agoIs this for CBSE or ICSE? My son is in ICSE and the focus there is heavily on creative writing and unseen passages. He found the 'Le Français et Moi' textbook series quite useful for grammar practice at home. Also, make sure she maintains a separate notebook just for those tricky irregular verbs; it worked wonders for his scores last term.

· Bengaluru1d agoIs your daughter in the ICSE or CBSE board? If it's ICSE, focus heavily on the 'Apprenons le Français' textbooks as the exam questions are mostly based on those exercises. My son scored 98 last year by just solving the back exercises repeatedly.

· Bengaluru1d agoHonestly, movies help! I started showing my son French cartoons with English subtitles. It helped him pick up the accent and sentence structure much faster than rote learning grammar rules.

· Bengaluru1d agoI have a very good tutor recommendation who takes online classes for French. She is very strict with the spellings and accents, which is where most kids lose marks. Let me know if you want me to share her contact details here or via DM.

· Bengaluru1d agoHonestly, just get a tutor who is a native speaker or someone who has lived in France for a few years. It makes a huge difference in their pronunciation and confidence during the oral exams.

· Bengaluru1h agoMy daughter was struggling with verb conjugations in 8th grade, so we started using the 'Duolingo' app daily for 15 minutes to build her vocabulary. For grammar specifically, I highly recommend 'Larousse' workbooks, they are excellent for the Indian curriculum. If you need a private tutor, there is a very patient teacher based in Indiranagar who takes online classes—let me know if you want her contact details.
