· Bengaluru2d agoHonestly, I am quite worried about the workload. My daughter is already struggling with balancing her math coaching and science projects, and adding a third language will just mean more rote learning. I hope the school offers an easier regional language like Hindi or Marathi instead of something too intensive like Sanskrit.

· Bengaluru2d agoHonestly, I am not a fan. My son is already finding it hard to cope with English and Hindi; adding a third language will just stress him out further. I hope the school keeps it optional rather than mandatory for everyone.

· Bengaluru2d agoIs this really mandatory for all grades? I have seen that some schools are exempting students in 9th and 10th grade due to board exam pressure. If they don't give a choice, I'm afraid it will just become another burden.

· Bengaluru1d agoMy son's school has already started a pilot program for this. They are allowing students to choose between French, German, or a regional language, but the catch is that the third language classes are held after regular hours. Suggest you try emailing the principal directly to see if they have finalized the options for the next academic session.

· Bengaluru1d agoI have seen this implemented in other states and it usually ends up being just a formality. Personally, I think learning a third language is great for cognitive development, provided they don't give too many assignments. Does anyone know if they will start this from the next academic session or mid-term?

· Bengaluru1d agoHi, my daughter is in Grade 6 and the school held a briefing last week. They are offering Hindi, Sanskrit, and French as options, but at least one has to be a regional language. To be honest, I am quite worried about the extra burden on the kids since they are already struggling with the heavy Math curriculum.

· Bengaluru23h agoMy nephew's school started this last year and it wasn't as bad as we expected. They integrated the third language during the zero period so it didn't really eat into the core subjects' time. You might want to ask the principal if they plan on doing something similar.

· Bengaluru7h agoJust to add to this, you should check the circular on the school portal, they updated it yesterday. It says the choice of language depends on the number of students opting for it. If not enough kids pick a specific language, they might scrap it, which is quite unfair for those who really want to learn something specific.
