· Bengaluru2d agoDon't stress too much! Just make a list of 5 schools you like and call their admin offices tomorrow morning. They will give you the most accurate answer for this year's session, as rules seem to change every single year.

· Bengaluru2d agoHi, it actually varies a lot now. Most private schools in Delhi/NCR follow the 3+ criteria for Nursery, but some top-tier ones are quite strict about the 3.5 cutoff as of March 31st. I suggest you visit the websites of the specific schools you are targeting because their individual admission portals will have the exact age calculator link. Don't just go by word of mouth!

· Bengaluru2d agoUsually, the cutoff is 3 years, not 3.5. Are you sure you aren't confusing Nursery with KG?

· Bengaluru2d agoIs this for a private or government-aided school? I’ve seen that the criteria are very strict for the top-tier schools in the city, but smaller playschools are usually more flexible.

· Bengaluru2d agoI have seen that schools are getting very rigid because of the NEP guidelines. When I was applying for my son last year, two schools rejected our form because he was 15 days younger than the cutoff. Please double-check the 'as of date' carefully; it is almost always March 31st of the academic year.

· Bengaluru1d agoMy son is currently in Nursery, and we faced the exact same confusion last year. Many schools now strictly follow the age as of 31st March, so if your child is even a few days short, they might not entertain the application. Better to call the admission office directly before you waste time filling out the forms.

· Bengaluru1d agoMy daughter just got admission, and we had to show her birth certificate to prove she turned 3 by the end of June. Some schools allow a relaxation of a month or two if you talk to the principal, but it's getting harder every year. Which area are you looking in?

· Bengaluru12h agoHi, this varies a lot depending on which city and board you are looking at. Most CBSE schools in my area have made the 3-year minimum for Nursery mandatory since the NEP rollout, but some private schools still prefer the child to be 3.5+. I suggest you first shortlist your top 3 schools and check their individual websites, as they usually mention the exact date cut-off there.
