Does DPS Whitefield offer extra coaching?

I checked with DPS Whitefield, and it turns out they don't provide any extra coaching either. Has anyone else heard differently or found a way to manage additional support outside school hours?

My son is also at DPS Whitefield and the pressure is definitely mounting this year. We found a small group class in Varthur main road for Science, but honestly, he gets quite exhausted by the time he reaches home. Are you finding the school homework manageable?

Better to look for a reliable local tutor. My nephew studies there and we have been using a private teacher for the last two years; it’s much better for personalized attention.

Hi, this is standard for most DPS branches as they discourage external coaching during school hours. My daughter is in Grade 8 and we’ve struggled with the same, so we finally enrolled her in a local home-tutoring center in Varthur for Math and Science. It’s a bit of a commute, but it’s the only way to keep up with the syllabus.

Have you checked with the subject teachers directly? Sometimes they give recommendations for private tutors who are familiar with the DPS curriculum, though they won't officially endorse them. We found a great tutor through a referral from another parent in the WhatsApp group.

Hi, it is quite standard for top-tier schools like DPS to discourage internal coaching. My daughter is in Grade 7 and we have engaged a private tutor who comes home twice a week for Math and Physics, which seems to be working well for us instead of relying on the school for extra hours.

Actually, don't waste your time looking for school-led coaching. They focus on syllabus completion during school hours, so I suggest you try looking into online platforms like BYJU’S or Cuemath for after-school support if you need help with concepts.

Honestly, avoid the extra pressure if possible. My son is at DPS and we just use Khan Academy and some YouTube channels to clear his doubts at home. It saves us the headache of coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs.

I have seen many parents in our building pool together to hire a home tutor who visits the community clubhouse. It’s much more convenient than driving to a coaching center in the evenings after traffic. Have you checked if any other parents in your society are looking for the same?
