· Bengaluru2d agoHi, my daughter moved to One World in 10th last year after living in Singapore. The biggest hurdle was the sudden shift to the board’s exam-centric approach, especially for subjects like Hindi. I suggest you get him a couple of private tutors for the first few months to help him catch up with the syllabus gap, as the teachers there expect them to be at pace immediately.

· Bengaluru2d agoDon't worry too much, kids adapt much faster than we do! Just ensure he starts practicing the NCERT Exemplar problems right away because the exam pattern is all about solving those specific questions.

· Bengaluru1d agoIt’s a big move! My nephew also joined for 10th and the transition was quite overwhelming due to the sheer volume of rote learning required compared to abroad. Make sure he speaks to the subject coordinators early on so they know he needs extra support with the paper patterns.

· Bengaluru17h agoMy nephew is currently in 11th at OWS. Honestly, the environment is quite competitive, and the teachers expect students to catch up on the syllabus gaps very quickly. Make sure he joins a local tuition center immediately so he doesn't feel left behind in the mid-term internals.

· Bengaluru14h agoIs he comfortable with the local curriculum? My son joined in 10th as well, and honestly, the social transition was easier than the academics. The peer group is quite welcoming, so he shouldn't feel left out, but keep a close watch on his internal assessment marks in the first term.

· Bengaluru14h agoHi, my daughter moved to OWS in 9th grade from the UK. The transition to the CBSE curriculum can be quite a shock due to the focus on rote learning and specific textbooks compared to the project-based approach abroad. I suggest you get him a few extra coaching classes for Math and Science specifically, as the grading criteria here are very rigid.

· Bengaluru10h agoIt really depends on the child's adjustment, but OWS is generally very supportive of NRI students. My son joined in the middle of the academic year and the teachers were quite helpful in conducting remedial sessions for the topics he missed.

· Bengaluru4h agoIs he taking the board exams this year? If so, please check if the school has already registered him with the board, as the deadlines are quite strict for transfers coming from international boards. We faced a lot of paperwork issues when we shifted our son last year.
