· Bengaluru2d agoIt is definitely a worry for all of us. I have started giving my daughter extra assignments from reference books like RD Sharma to ensure she stays ahead, regardless of the school's marking policy.

· Bengaluru2d agoIs anyone else feeling the same about the curriculum? It feels like they are just passing everyone to keep the school rankings up, but the kids are the ones who will suffer eventually.

· Bengaluru2d agoMy son is in 8th grade right now and I am losing sleep over this. Even if they get grace marks, how will they handle the sudden pressure of the 9th-grade syllabus? I am worried they will lose their study habits entirely.

· Bengaluru2d agoYou are absolutely right. I have seen this with my daughter; schools are relaxing internal assessments so much that kids aren't building the foundational concepts for Class 9 and 10 boards. We have started extra tuition for Math and Science specifically because the school syllabus feels way too diluted compared to the actual requirements.

· Bengaluru2d agoI have seen this happen in our school too. Honestly, I suggest you try looking for extra reference books like RD Sharma or Lakhmir Singh at home. Don't rely solely on the school's marking scheme, otherwise, they will get a rude shock next year.

· Bengaluru1d agoTotally agree! My son is in 8th now and I can already see the laziness creeping in because the evaluation criteria are so lenient. What are the other parents doing? I am planning to enroll him in extra coaching by next month just to make sure his basics are solid before the boards approach.

· Bengaluru1d agoActually, my nephew faced the same issue last year. The transition to 9th is brutal, and the school didn't help at all. We had to enroll him in a foundation course during the summer break to catch up with the advanced topics.

· Bengaluru6h agoYou are absolutely right to be concerned. I have seen this trend in our school too, and it really caught my daughter off guard when she hit the mid-term syllabus in 9th grade. The jump in the difficulty of Math and Science is massive, and these 'relaxed' grades just give kids a false sense of security. I suggest you start getting them some extra practice papers or bridge materials during the holidays so they don't lose the habit of rigorous study.
