Updating the government portal for transfer students

Does anyone know the process for updating the government portal when a student leaves our school? I want to make sure the records clearly show they are continuing their education elsewhere. It gets a bit tricky in some cases, so I was wondering if there is a standard procedure or specific documentation we need to provide to ensure the transfer is tracked correctly. Any advice would be helpful!

Is it mandatory for the school to do this, or can the parents handle the portal change themselves? I am worried because we are relocating next month and our current school office is being quite slow with administrative requests.

Just check if the school has already updated the 'Student Status' to 'Left' in the UDISE+ module. If they haven't done it, the new school won't be able to pull the student's records even if you provide all the papers. My son's new school struggled for weeks until our old school principal manually clicked the update button.

Just check with the school admin office, they usually have a dedicated clerk who handles the UDISE+ portal entries. I suggest you try asking them to trigger the 'Transfer Request' from their end first; once they initiate it, the portal will reflect the status as 'Pending for Acceptance' at the new school, which makes it much easier for you to track.

Hi, I faced a similar issue when my son moved schools last year. You definitely need the 'Transfer Certificate' (TC) generated by the current school, and once you have that, you have to upload the digital copy onto the portal using your child's student ID. Make sure the new school gives you a 'Joining Report' as well, because the system often flags the transfer as incomplete if that second document isn't mapped to the portal within 30 days.

Hi, I faced this issue last year when we moved our daughter to a different state. You need to collect the Transfer Certificate (TC) first and then ask the school office for the 'Transfer ID' or 'Student Permanent ID' specifically. Once you have that, you log into the government portal using the school’s credentials to initiate the 'Exit' request. Don't forget to get a physical acknowledgement stamp on the transfer application, as some portals take forever to update.

Make sure you get a digital copy of the Leaving Certificate uploaded directly by the school. Some portals require the new school to 'accept' the transfer request, so keep in touch with the new admission office to ensure they click 'Accept' as soon as the entry shows up in their dashboard.

My daughter changed schools last month and honestly, it was quite a headache with the portal. Just ensure you get the hard copy of the transfer request signed and stamped before leaving, otherwise the new school might refuse to admit them into their system.

Ask the school admin for the 'Student Transfer Form' annexure. It is a standard government document that needs to be signed by the principal; without that, the portal entry is often rejected. I have seen many parents waste time running around because they didn't have this specific signed Annexure.
