Has Abacus training helped your child with focus?

My daughter recently started Abacus classes and I am genuinely surprised to see a real improvement in her ability to focus. While her math calculations have definitely gotten faster, the change in her concentration levels is what stands out the most to me. Has anyone else noticed this with their kids? Does the focus improve long-term or is it just a phase?

Are you sending her to a specific coaching center or online? I am considering enrolling my kid, but worried about the extra screen time if it's an online class.

My daughter is in Level 4 now, and I have seen the same shift. She used to be quite restless during long study hours, but Abacus has really trained her brain to stay engaged. I suggest you keep it up for at least a year to see the long-term benefits stabilize.

That is great to hear! My son has been doing Abacus for two years now, and I can confirm it isn't just a phase. Initially, we enrolled him just for math speed, but his ability to sit still and complete his homework without getting distracted has improved significantly over time. Consistency is key, so make sure she practices the visualization exercises daily.

My son struggled a lot with attention in class, and Abacus was a game changer for him. He is much more attentive now and his teachers have even mentioned it in the last PTM. Definitely stick with it!

It definitely helps with focus, but don't stop the regular school math practice! Sometimes kids get so fast with Abacus mental math that they forget to show the steps in school exams, which leads to marks being deducted. Keep a balance.
