· Bengaluru2d agoIs this happening in the primary section or secondary? Usually, in secondary, they are quite strict, but I have seen that for the younger ones, they go very slow to avoid complaints about workload. You should write an email to the HOD instead of the class teacher.

· Bengaluru2d agoHonestly, I feel it is more about the teaching methodology than the school avoiding responsibility. Many schools here are terrified of 'overburdening' students because of the feedback they get from other parents. Maybe suggest a small group remedial session to the coordinator?

· Bengaluru2d agoI completely understand your frustration. When my daughter was in Grade 4, I felt the exact same way, but it turned out the school was just following a very rigid board curriculum that doesn't allow for much flexibility in language teaching. Have you tried asking the Kannada teacher for extra worksheets or specific reading materials that your child can practice at home?

· Bengaluru1d agoSame here! I had to hire a private tutor because the school's 'cautious approach' meant my child wasn't even learning basic sentence structure. It is better to take charge early on rather than waiting for the school to improve their approach.

· Bengaluru22h agoMy son struggled a lot last year until I started using those basic Kannada storybooks for primary kids at home. The school won't do much beyond the textbook, so don't wait for them to push your child, just start with 15 minutes of daily reading yourself.
