· Bengaluru3d agoCompletely agree, the costs are insane now. We found a balance by choosing a school that is a 20-minute commute away but has a sensible fee structure; it’s a bit of travel, but the quality of education is far better for the price we pay. Just ensure the transport safety is your top priority if you decide to go further out.

· Bengaluru2d agoI have seen that even the so-called 'affordable' schools increase fees by 10-15% every single year. It is a trap, honestly. Suggest you try looking at some reputable schools in Brookefield or Varthur side, as they are slightly less inflated than the main Whitefield hub.

· Bengaluru1d agoHave you considered the fuel costs and the child’s exhaustion? I shifted my son to a local school within 3km last year, and the amount we save on the bus fee—which is easily 40k—covers a chunk of the tuition. Don't fall for the fancy glass buildings; look for good teachers instead.

· Bengaluru1d agoTry looking at the community-run schools nearby. They don't spend on marketing or fancy websites, so their fees are usually quite transparent and much lower than the corporate chains.

· Bengaluru1d agoWhitefield rents are already sky-high, so adding a 2-lakh school fee on top is just not sustainable for most middle-class families. My daughter goes to a smaller state board school near Hope Farm which is very reasonable, though the facilities are basic compared to the big international ones. If you are okay with a solid academic curriculum without the glitz, you should definitely check out the older schools in the area rather than the new-age ones.
