· Bengaluru2d agoDefinitely look for schools that balance extracurriculars with academics. My nephew is in a school that is too focused on rote learning and he barely has any energy left for sports by the evening. Choose a campus that has a good playground, it makes a world of difference for a 5-year-old.

· Bengaluru2d agoCheck the student-teacher ratio in the nursery wing. My son is in a school with a 1:15 ratio and the individual attention he gets is fantastic, which really helped him pick up reading faster than we expected.

· Bengaluru1d agoI would suggest you visit the school during their dispersal time. You will get a real sense of how the staff interacts with the kids and how chaotic or organized the management actually is. We did this for our son and it helped us cross one school off our list immediately.

· Bengaluru4h agoHi! My daughter is in Grade 1 at DPS. Honestly, the academics are quite strong, but do check the bus route beforehand as that’s the biggest pain point for us. Also, make sure to ask them how they handle the transition for the little ones in the first month, as that initial settling period is very crucial.

· Bengaluru2h agoHave you considered the commute? Please don't pick a school just because of the brand name. Spending 1.5 hours in a van every day is very tiring for a 5-year-old, so prioritize proximity to your home first.
