· Bengaluru2d agoDon't worry too much about the transition, kids are more adaptable than we think. Just ensure your child is comfortable with the shift in math complexity before you finalize anything. My nephew shifted last year and he actually enjoys the CBSE approach more because it is quite application-based.

· Bengaluru2d agoAre you planning to change schools within the same city? I suggest you check the faculty quality of the specific schools you are looking at rather than just the board. A good school under the State board is sometimes much better than a mediocre CBSE franchise school that just focuses on rote learning.

· Bengaluru2d agoIf you want your child to have a strong foundation in English literature and a more balanced curriculum, go for ICSE. My son is in ICSE and the project work is heavy, but it really builds their confidence and communication skills. It’s definitely more demanding than the State board, so be prepared for a higher workload at home.

· Bengaluru1d agoHonestly, the transition depends entirely on the child's current grade. I moved my daughter to CBSE in 6th grade and the initial months were tough because of the science and math syllabus, but she adjusted well after some extra tuitions. If you are planning for long-term competitive exams, CBSE is definitely the safer bet because the content aligns better with JEE and NEET patterns.

· Bengaluru17h agoIf your focus is on overall development and extra-curriculars, look closely at the ICSE school's track record. They give a lot of assignments, so make sure your child is prepared for the discipline required. It’s a big jump from State board, but worth it if you find the right environment.
