My son just finished his IGCSE and A Levels and has made it clear he wants to stay in India for his undergrad. We had always planned for abroad, so we are a bit lost on the best local universities that accept these qualifications. Are there others in the same boat? Would love to know which colleges you are considering or if you have any advice on the transition to the Indian system.

Which stream is he interested in? Most of the top-tier private universities have rolling admissions, so apply early.

Hi, my daughter just finished her A-Levels last year and opted for Ashoka University. They are very welcoming to international curricula and have a specific admissions process for IGCSE/A-Level students. Just ensure his predicted grades are updated properly on the portal as they give a lot of weightage to those.

Don't worry, many top colleges now accept Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge results. Just make sure you get the Equivalence Certificate from AIU (Association of Indian Universities) well in advance, as that is the biggest headache for the administration offices.

Honestly, the transition can be a bit of a shock regarding the academic calendar and the 'cramming' culture compared to the analytical approach of A-Levels. We considered Christ University in Bangalore, but the entrance exam prep was quite intense for a student coming from a CIE background.

Have you looked at NMIMS or Flame University? My son is in his second year at Flame, and they really value the critical thinking skills he developed during his IGCSE/A-Level years. It’s a smooth transition if he likes liberal arts.
