· Bengaluru2d agoWhich grade is your child in? We shifted our son last year and the biggest challenge was catching up with the math curriculum. You might want to check if the new school follows a different board, because that transition is usually the hardest part.

· Bengaluru1d agoHi, welcome to the group! Moving schools is always stressful, but my daughter shifted in 6th grade and it took her about a month to settle. My advice is to focus on the extracurriculars initially—the football club helped her make friends much faster than the classroom setting did.

· Bengaluru1d agoDon't worry too much, kids are actually much more resilient than we give them credit for. When we moved cities, we just made sure to keep our home routine consistent so he felt secure. Also, try to connect with one other parent in his class early on for notes and updates.

· Bengaluru1d agoBe prepared for a few weeks of 'I hate this new school' complaints. It’s normal! Just give it time and try not to over-analyze their mood every day. My son took a full term to stop comparing everything to his old school, but now he loves it.

· Bengaluru11h agoJust a small suggestion: try to meet the class teacher one-on-one before the first day. It really helps to give them a heads-up about your child's personality and any specific support they might need during the first week. It made a world of difference for us.
