Is ISC English proving too difficult for your kids?

· Bengaluru2d agoHi, I totally understand your concern. My daughter is in Grade 12 and the Literature paper is indeed very demanding this year, especially the way they expect analytical answers for the prose section. We hired a private tutor just for English to help her practice past year papers, and honestly, that has made a world of difference for her confidence.

· Bengaluru2d agoHave you checked the 'Total English' workbook? I suggest you try that alongside the main textbooks; it really helps in breaking down the grammar and comprehension sections. My elder one followed it religiously and it helped him understand the board's expectations much better.

· Bengaluru2d agoSame here! My son is finding the marking scheme quite rigid. Even when he writes good content, he loses marks for not hitting the specific keywords mentioned in the council's rubric. It is very stressful for the kids.

· Bengaluru1d agoI agree, the syllabus is quite vast. Don't worry too much, just ensure your child spends at least 30 minutes daily on writing practice. It is all about how you structure the answers in ISC.

· Bengaluru1d agoMy son is also facing the same struggle, especially with 'The Tempest' questions. Does anyone have any notes or a study group link where kids can discuss these chapters? Maybe peer learning will make it less overwhelming for them.
