Is NPS too demanding for younger kids?

NPS has a really intense curriculum. I’ve been thinking that it might be an advantage if your child is one of the oldest in the class, as it seems to pay off in the long run. Has anyone else noticed this? Would love to hear your thoughts on whether age plays a big role in coping with their academic pressure.

Yes, age definitely makes a huge difference in NPS. My daughter is a June-born, and she was always struggling to keep up with the pace compared to the kids born in the beginning of the year. If you can wait a year before starting, I would highly recommend it because the workload there is no joke even in primary grades.

Interesting point. Do you think the pressure is more about the curriculum content or just the sheer volume of assignments? My nephew is doing fine, but he is naturally very competitive.

My son is one of the younger ones in his grade at NPS and honestly, it is a constant struggle for him. We spend every evening catching up on lessons. If I had to do it all over again, I would have definitely held him back for a year.

I have seen this too. Being the oldest gives them that extra bit of maturity to handle the constant cycle of projects and unit tests. It’s not just about academics; it's about the ability to sit through those long school hours without burning out.

Every child is wired differently, so don't bank everything on the age factor alone. My niece is a late bloomer but she manages well because she is very organized. Focus more on building their study habits now rather than just the birth date.
