Hi everyone, I’m looking into subject combinations for after 10th grade and am considering Economics, Psychology, and Computer Science. For those whose kids have taken this path, what is one major factor I should keep in mind regarding this mix? Any advice on the workload or future college prospects would be really helpful.

Hi, my daughter opted for a similar combination last year. The workload is quite heavy because Computer Science requires consistent coding practice, while Psychology involves a lot of theory and case studies. Make sure your child enjoys the practical application of data, as that connects well with Economics too!

My main advice is to check the school's faculty for CS. Sometimes schools have great Humanities departments but weak coding teachers, which can make those 11th and 12th grade CS projects a nightmare for the kids.

Is your child planning to study abroad or stay in India? If it's India, please check if the top colleges in your state even accept this specific mix for B.Sc or B.A. programs, as some traditional universities have very rigid subject requirements.

Psychology is a hidden gem for students good at analytics. My nephew paired it with Economics and he is doing great in his internship for data analytics. It's a very modern, versatile mix.

Actually, don't worry too much about the workload if they are interested. My son took CS and Economics, and honestly, the math in Econ helps with the logic in CS. Just keep an eye on their stress levels during board exams.
