· Bengaluru2d agoMaybe you can try giving your child some clay molding or bead stringing activities at home to improve fine motor skills? I found that when my child’s hand muscles got stronger, his writing speed improved naturally without me having to push him.

· Bengaluru1d agoIt is becoming a common trend everywhere, sadly. My neighbor’s kid is in a completely different board, and they are also facing the same issue. I’ve started telling my daughter to just focus on neatness at home; I’d rather she write slow and legible than fast and messy.

· Bengaluru1d agoWhich school are you referring to? We are looking for admissions and I definitely want to avoid any school that puts that kind of pressure on little kids. Thanks for bringing this up.

· Bengaluru1d agoTotally agree with you! My daughter is in UKG and the teachers are constantly rushing them to finish their notebooks. It’s so stressful for her, and honestly, at 5 years old, they should be building pencil grip, not trying to break records for speed.

· Bengaluru21h agoI have seen this in my son’s school as well. I actually spoke to the class teacher about it, and she said it’s to prepare them for the Grade 1 curriculum which is quite heavy. It’s frustrating, but I’m not sure if it’s specific to one school or a general trend now.
